Watches, As usual by J. Simnet, Parade.
Most of those who profess this employ in this country, are
rough clockmakers; if rats could speak, they would declare
their sentiments, say that we must eat, and we live by
gnawing down what you endeavour to rear. I keep this
creature here, with few cloaths to cover his flesh, and but
very little flesh to cover his bones; if I know him attempt
to eat the fruits of others labour, I lash him, rat like,
confin'd? resists, he can't bite me; but reader take care.
Near Portsmouth stocks Shep G---ssi---h lives,
(A turkey legged youth.)
His clocks with both hands gives the lye,
His tongue ne'er speaks the truth,
Stand off, ye pettyfogging knaves;
This can you all out do,
Long Nat, can filch us of our time;
And of our money too.
